Remote by Design

Since its founding in 2015,VisionTech has always been a remote company. The reason? It’s a tech company that knows how to use technology effectively and doesn’t want to have geography limit the talent pool.

 

What you will do

  • Provision MySQL instances on prem and in the cloud.
  • Upgrade and migrate database MySQL between versions and servers.
  • Ensure optimal performance, security, and high availability of large sized databases.
  • Provide day to day support for MySQL environment.
  • Setup and maintain replication and monitoring.
  • Script and automate repetitive maintenance tasks.
  • Identify and prototype new data solutions to improve performance, reliability.
  • Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders.

 

Your Profile

  • Strong proficiency in MySQL database technology, administration and architecture.
  • Solid experience supporting critical MySQL production systems.
  • Knowledge about Amazon Web Services or other public cloud.
  • Good knowledge of Linux system.
  • Good shell or Python programming skills.
  • Good troubleshooting skills and persistence to see issue through to resolution
  • Willingness to learn new database and cloud related technologies.
  • Experience with IaC tools like: Ansible, Terraform, Jenkins.
  • Practical experience with Vitess or other MySQL clustering technology.
  • Experience with containers and kubernetes.
  • Working knowledge of AWS or Oracle cloud.
  • Experience with other database technologies like Oracle/MS SQL/PostgreSQL/Redshift.
